Day 12: sun flare

sun flare in my garden

I really struggled with this photo thanks to a lot of clouds and being very unsure of changing the aperture, speed, etc. I think this photo was a bit of luck and learning. I am pretty proud of it though. :)

Day 11: silhouette

silhouette of the other half

This photo really pushed me to learn more about the camera. I wasn't sure about the photo challenge when I first started but it's a nice way to get in a habit of taking photos and removing them from the camera. I really hope to continue using our 'fancy' camera more often. We've had it for almost a year now but I never really learned the features past auto. I'm still an amateur for sure. :)

Day 10: animal

my 'animal'

As ferocious as he looks in this photo he was actually yawning and would hardly look at me for a photo. He is my first baby and is completely spoiled. Most days you can find him around my house sleeping somewhere quiet and comfy, waiting for the kiddo to feed him, or chasing her and 'sharing' her toys. He is the sweetest and laziest 'animal' I know and we love him.

Day 9: fresh fruit

mango and strawberries

Tonight after dinner we had a simple dessert of fresh mango and strawberries. I am not a huge fan of fruit but the kiddo loves both of these fruits and it's a quick healthy dessert.

Day 7: high angle

my blog-spot

This is where I currently blog from when I can find a quiet moment. My 'mousepad' is the book I am currently reading, Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom. I actually wanted to climb on the roof to take the high angle picture but ultimately had to settle for my dresser.

Day 6: books

the Kiddo's favorite book and "lovies"

the Kiddo's book collection

The Kiddo has a LOVE of books! This chair is where we do story time each night and where I rock the Kiddo to sleep. This isn't her entire collection since they are all over our home and in the car but it is the majority. We have been collecting them since before she was born and then continuing to collect them along the way. I started reading to her everyday at about two weeks old. In the beginning she just stared at the pages and listened to us read to her. Now we read a book to her each night and then she reads it to us by pointing out the pictures or just quietly looking at the pages.

The first photo is ABC by Dr. Seuss, the most requested book of the collection and completely memorized. The bunny and blanket are her "lovies" that she sleeps with every night. The bunny was given to her by a dear friend as were the blankets. We actually have a collection of about six blankets that all lay in her bed but we switch out depending on the weather.
